Several Merrillville High School students were invited to attend the annual IGNITE Luncheon, sponsored by the Northwest Indiana Forum.

Senior students from various Career & Technical Education programs were selected to attend the event, which was held at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center. They interacted and networked with business and industry leaders, non-profit representatives, and elected officials, including Governor Holcomb and Congressman Mrvan.

PNN Senior Producer Taylor O'Hara asked a question of the governor and congressman on the topic of student social and emotional needs and being prepared for successful careers after high school.

IGNITE is a regional strategy for economic transformation in NWI that includes five pillars - Business Development and Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Infrastructure, Quality of Place and Talent Development.
